Word to the Wise was founded by Jo McErvale; a professional communicator with almost two decades' experience in purposeful and passionate writing, media production and project management.
A qualified journalist, Jo has written for The Age newspaper in Melbourne and worked in broadcast production for ABC Television News and Current Affairs. Most recently she worked as an Account Manager for Verity Campbell Communications, supporting architects and built environment professionals to articulate their core values, secure industry awards and grow their market share via targeted communications. Earlier, Jo worked in domestic and international development communications for not-for-profits Oxfam Australia and the Brotherhood of St Laurence.
Jo's facilitative, values-led approach, and compelling communications style builds quick rapport with teams to achieve communications clarity. Tackling problems with collaborative methods, Word to the Wise projects always begin with the development of a clear brief and a roadmap for achieving mutually agreed goals.

"I feel very privileged to have found Jo, not only is she a great person but her writing skills are superb. She was tasked with unlocking my every thought and then putting them eloquently into meaningful writing... She has great experience but you can see that it's her love of her craft that makes all the difference. For quality writing and advice Jo has me as a customer for life and I am looking forward to our continued collaboration!"
